High Strength Niobium Vanadium Structural Steel Used For The Construction Of The NBA Clippers Arena

On August 27th, it was announced that the Intuit Dome basketball court, which can accommodate 18500 seats, has officially opened. In the construction of this luxurious super large basketball court, the high-strength low-alloy niobium vanadium structural steel A572Gr50 produced by the steel structure company is used for the manufacturing of lattice shell steel structures.

This structural steel has high strength, high toughness, good fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance, and is commonly used in the construction field to build large structures such as high-rise buildings, large sports venues, and exhibition centers.

The pipe truss mesh steel structure is the most difficult part to produce and process among the steel structures used in the entire basketball court. The customer requested that all four edges of the steel plate be subjected to magnetic particle inspection to prevent segregation. The internal quality requirements are strict, and multiple suppliers have been rigorously and meticulously inspected. The process plan provided by the company's marketing team in collaboration with R&D personnel has been recognized by the customer. In the process of ensuring supply, the company leveraged its technological advantages, strictly controlled quality, optimized production processes, ensured good weldability and toughness of the products, and achieved early delivery.

Intuit Dome is the new home of the Clippers, covering a total area of 110000 square meters. In June of this year, the International Olympic Committee announced plans for the use of some venues for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, including the Intuit Dome basketball arena, which will host basketball games.
