Main Frame of Large Steel Structure Plant in Southern Peru's Industrial Zone Completed

A large steel structure plant project located in the industrial zone of southern Peru has recently completed the construction of its main frame. It is expected to be fully completed and put into use in the first quarter of 2026. Adopting a portal rigid frame steel structure system, the project features "efficient construction + multi-functional adaptability" as its core advantages, making it one of the large-scale industrial infrastructure projects in the region in recent years.

According to the project manager, the main body of the plant is constructed with all-metal components. Both the columns and roof beams are made of high-strength weathering steel, and combined with the design of roof lighting belts, it not only ensures structural stability but also achieves natural lighting for energy conservation. The reinforcement binding and framework support for the lower concrete foundation have been completed, and the overall structure has a span of 24 meters, which can flexibly adapt to various scenarios such as industrial production and bulk storage. "The advantages of steel structures are obvious - it only took 4 months from the start of construction to the capping of the frame, which is nearly 50% shorter than the construction period of traditional concrete plants," the manager added.

Relevant officials from Peru's Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that the project is one of the key projects under the local "Industrial Facility Upgrading Plan". After being put into use, it will attract enterprises engaged in textile and garment processing as well as deep processing of fishery products to settle in, which is expected to create more than 200 job opportunities and simultaneously enhance the regional logistics and production support capabilities.

Industry insiders pointed out that in recent years, industrial infrastructure construction in South America has accelerated. Due to the characteristics of short construction period and high space utilization rate, steel structures have gradually become the mainstream choice for local plant and storage projects, and are expected to promote the transformation of the regional construction supply chain towards modularization and lightweight in the future.
